Common questions about van leasing
Is van leasing only for VAT-registered businesses?
No. VAT-registered businesses get the most tax benefit (50% or 100% VAT reclaim on rentals), but sole traders, partnerships and limited companies that aren't VAT-registered can lease too. For non-VAT-registered buyers, hire purchase or finance lease is sometimes a better route. We run the numbers on all four options so you can see which saves you more over the life of the vehicle.
How long does a new van lease run for?
Most business leases run 24 to 60 months (2 to 5 years). Shorter terms cost more per month but keep you in a newer van, longer terms spread the depreciation and bring the monthly cost down. The sweet spot for most operators is 36 or 48 months. We'll price both side-by-side so you can see the cost-per-mile tradeoff.
Can I lease a used van?
Yes, but through different lenders than new-van leasing. Used vans typically finance on hire purchase rather than contract hire, because residual values are harder to predict. We work with specialist used-vehicle lenders on vans up to around 5-8 years old. Older stock usually runs on an unsecured business loan rather than HP.
Do I get a say in the spec, or is it a fixed package?
Factory orders let you spec any factory-available option: metallic paint, parking sensors, sat nav, air con, cruise, upgraded seats, tow bars, sliding side doors. Aftermarket work like racking, livery, ply-lining and roof racks we arrange through approved fitters before delivery. Stock vans come pre-spec'd but we can usually add aftermarket work before you collect.
What if the van I want isn't on the page?
Call us. The deals listed above are current stock and featured offers. We have access to every manufacturer's full range via our dealer network, plus ex-fleet, ex-demo and factory-order vehicles. Tell us what you need and we'll source it. Lead times vary from 7 days (stock) to 16 weeks (factory order with a specific spec).
Is delivery really free anywhere in the UK?
Yes, on mainland UK. Every new van lease, finance or cash purchase includes free delivery to your business or home address. Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands are quoted at cost on a deal-by-deal basis. Delivery usually happens 7 to 14 days after finance is approved for stock vehicles, or on the factory build date for ordered vans.
