A service van is a rolling workshop. The buyer is usually a field engineer or a small service company: plumbers, gas engineers, electricians, HVAC and refrigeration engineers, telecoms and IT engineers, white-goods repair, mobile mechanics, solar installers and home-service trades. The kit list is built around the work. Modular racking systems hold parts, consumables and diagnostics. A split-charge 12V feed plus a 230V inverter runs cordless chargers, inspection cameras, test gear and a kettle between jobs. A roof rack with a ladder handles boiler work and loft access. Lockable drawers and bins keep copper, fittings and expensive meters secure when the van is parked on a domestic drive. Workshop-style internal LED lighting is the small detail engineers notice: you can actually see what you are doing on a 6pm call-out in February.

We supply, spec and deliver service vans from our Porthcawl base to engineers and small teams across the UK. Sizing is the first conversation. A small panel van suits urban mobile repair, a medium panel van handles most multi-trade work, and a large panel van covers plant-fitter and installer use. We can match an existing fleet spec on a replacement van, or build from scratch for a first-time buyer. If your work is utility-sector company fleet rather than independent service, look at the utility vans line-up instead. For bespoke chassis builds, Luton conversions and refrigerated bodies, see our van conversions page. We also supply electric service vans for engineers working inside ULEZ and clean air zones.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Modular racking is fitted before delivery so the van arrives ready for work. We use established conversion partners and spec the shelving, bins and drawer layout around your tools, parts and usual job list. If you are replacing an existing van, we can match the previous layout so the move-over is quick. Warranty on the racking sits with the fitter and we make sure that paperwork reaches you with the keys.

It depends on the trade. A small panel van like a Ford Transit Connect, Peugeot Partner or Vauxhall Combo suits urban mobile repair, white-goods engineers and IT field work where parking and access matter more than payload. A medium panel van such as a Ford Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro or Volkswagen Transporter handles most multi-trade, plumbing and electrical work and takes a 3-metre copper length. A large panel van like a Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter or Iveco Daily suits plant fitters, solar installers and HVAC engineers carrying bulky kit. We go through your usual kit list before recommending a size.

Yes, but fitting racking before delivery is usually cleaner. On contract hire and finance lease, any modification has to be approved by the funder, and at end of term the van typically has to be handed back in standard condition, which means removing the racking and making good any drilled holes. If you spec the racking as part of the original order, we build the cost into the monthly payment and the funder signs off the modification up front. If you lease the van first and add racking afterwards, talk to us before drilling anything and we will check the agreement.

Yes. Gas Safe engineers typically want a medium or large panel van with secure racking for boiler parts and fittings, a lockable compartment for the combustion analyser and flue gas kit, internal LED lighting for dark plant rooms and airing cupboards, a roof ladder for boiler flue work and a 230V inverter for test equipment. We spec these as standard on the gas-engineer builds we supply. Livery, signwriting and Gas Safe branding can be applied before delivery if you want the van ready to work.

Yes. Electric versions of most popular service vans are available, including the Ford E-Transit and E-Transit Custom, Vauxhall Vivaro Electric and Combo Electric, Mercedes eSprinter and eVito, Renault Kangoo E-Tech and Trafic E-Tech, and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo. Real-world range on a medium van loaded with tools usually sits between 130 and 170 miles, which covers most single-day service routes with a home or depot overnight charge. For engineers working inside ULEZ and other clean air zones, an electric service van removes the daily charge. See our [electric vans page](/electric) for the current line-up.

Yes, where you ask for one. We fit a full-length roof rack with roller bar and a trade ladder (usually a 2-section or 3-section aluminium ladder sized to the work) before delivery. Loading straps and a rear access step are included on the standard build. If you already own a ladder that you trust, we can fit your own item rather than charging for a new one. For engineers working at height regularly, we also offer internal ladder clamps and pipe tubes for carrying copper and conduit inside the load area.
