Drainage Vans: Fully Equipped for Survey and Clearance
Specialist vans for drainage contractors, water utility subcontractors and council teams running sewer inspection, drain survey and clearance work.

A drainage van is a working vehicle fitted out for inspection and clearance of drains, sewers and surface-water systems. The kit list is specific: a CCTV crawler or push-rod camera, a monitor station, 12V and 230V power for cameras and laptops, secure racking for rods and hoses, and enough payload to carry water, tools and spoil without running over the plated weight. Typical buyers are drainage contractors, drain survey engineers working for water utility subcontractors, councils running reactive drainage teams, and drain cleaning firms moving from car-and-trailer to a dedicated van.
We supply, spec and deliver drainage vans from our Porthcawl base, usually on a 3.5 tonne panel van platform. Choose outright purchase, hire purchase, finance lease or contract hire. Racking and inverters can be fitted before hand-over so the van arrives ready to work. Delivery is free across the UK. If you are running drainage alongside jetting, ask us about the jetting vans range, or look at our utility vans line-up for telecoms-style fit-outs. Finance options are covered in our business van finance guide.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
A typical drainage van carries CCTV survey gear, a monitor station, tool racking, a generator or inverter, and secure storage for cables and rods. We can spec any of these items before delivery, so the van is ready to work on day one. Exact kit lists vary by contractor, and we are happy to match an existing fit-out on a replacement vehicle.
Yes. We arrange CCTV survey kit as a pre-delivery fit, either through our conversion partners or by coordinating with the camera supplier of your choice. That covers push-rod systems, crawler cameras and monitor stations with the power draw matched to the van's electrical set-up. If you already own a camera reel, we can mount it into a new van rather than buying fresh.
Most drainage vans are built on a 3.5 tonne chassis with around 1,000kg to 1,400kg of payload once racking and kit are fitted. Water, rods and a full spoil bin add up fast, so we recommend checking the plated weight against a realistic kit list before you commit. If your loadout is heavier, a 4.25 tonne or 7.5 tonne option may be the right answer.
Both. You can buy outright, take hire purchase to own the van at the end, sign a finance lease with VAT benefits, or run contract hire with fixed monthly payments. We are an FCA-authorised broker, so we shop finance across a panel of lenders rather than pushing a single product. The right option depends on your tax position, cash flow and how long you plan to keep the vehicle.
Stock vans with light racking can be delivered in one to two weeks. A full CCTV and power fit-out on a factory-order vehicle typically takes eight to twelve weeks, driven by the conversion lead time rather than the chassis. We confirm a realistic hand-over date in writing before you commit, and we keep you posted if anything shifts.
Yes. Racking, shelving, inverters and split-charge systems are all fitted before hand-over so the van arrives ready for work. We use established conversion partners and we can match an existing fleet spec if you want every new van to mirror the old one. Warranty on the conversion work sits with the fitter, and we make sure that paperwork reaches you with the keys.
